Background info for Dr. Matt Crain

Dr. Matt Crain is the founder, trainer and consultant for Connecting Fathers and Families.  He has a PhD in Adult Education and a master’s degree in Religious Education.

  • Columnist for weekly Sunday newspaper on Parenting and Family Enrichment
  • Founder of the Center for Fathers and Families
  • Writer, trainer and speaker for school faculty, family engagement events, civic clubs and churches
  • 70 Speaking Engagements in six states involving over 20,000 people
  • Written successful training initiatives for teen fathers, new dads, and working dads
  • Teaches Love and Logic Parenting Classes and Financial Peace university classes
  • Involved as Family Life Ministry Leader in church after serving over 30 years in the ministry
  • Served as leader in scouting, chaplain for a hospital and two police departments, and civic club president
  • Board member for numerous coalitions and organizations

Matt has been married for 34 years to his wife Lucinda, with two daughters and three grandchildren.  His favorite food is Mexican; favorite vacation spot is Mount Hood, Oregon; and favorite quote is from Grandma, “A long life may not be good enough– but a good life is always long enough.” (She lived to be 94 and enjoyed both.)
