Background information for Deborah Reinhardt Palmer

DeborahReinhardtPalmer Deborah Reinhardt PalmerDeborah Reinhardt Palmer has worked as managing editor of AAA Midwest Traveler for nearly 20 years, and is based in Missouri. In 1998, she launched AAA Southern Traveler magazine.  Debbie is a regular speaker on travel and tourism topics.

“I’ve guided the magazine through emerging technologies including the desktop publishing revolution and the internet.  After all this time, it’s still a kick to hold a new issue of AAA Southern Traveler magazine in my hands and smell the ink as I open a carton of magazines.  I love to create something that 700,000 people like to read.  As a member of the travel and tourism industry, I believe I’ve developed a respected reputation not only as an editor of a well-known regional magazine, but also as a travel writer.”

In 2009, she launched a website, Hopeful Transitions, and her blog that speaks to families in transition.  Her
focus is to help families in the process of divorce, custody and parenting issues.  One of her favorite quotes is,
“make your mess your message.”  As an 11-year divorce survivor, she created her website and blog to help others work through their messes as she continues on her life journey.  She has a booklet on custody modification and is in the process of writing a devotional book for mothers in transition.
