Leslie is a licensed marriage and family therapist and the founder of   Balanced Family Therapy as well as the creator of Blueprint for a Lasting Marriage and SEXY Marriage.  She also is a speaker and seminar leader.

Lesli’s private practice focuses on working with couples who want their marriages to work.  Unfortunately, many of these couples wait to get help until they are in crisis, often on the verge of divorce.  In working with these couples, she kept running into two questions.  What is it about marriage today that makes it so difficult to maintain a happy and successful union?  And, if marriages are doomed to fail, why do people keep trying?  In examining these questions, it became clear that many of us don’t have a clue how to be in a long-term, committed, thriving marriage.  Lesli set out on a mission to identify and deliver practical solutions for couples and their relationships.

Lesli also has personal experience with the pain of divorce.  Her parents, after many unhappy years together, divorced when she was sixteen.  She had several relationships over the years; two that she thought would lead to marriage.  Though Lesli was heartbroken by the outcomes, she eventually became very grateful.  Had she married either man, Lesli would have become one of the divorce statistics because she really wasn’t ready for the responsibility of marriage.  Luckily, she spent some time learning about herself and growing up.

She and her husband, Steve, have been married for over twenty years and have two teenage children.

Today, Lesli has combined her education and experience and developed practical strategies for couples and presents them in her book, Blueprint for a Lasting Marriage, and in the SEXY Marriage products.  She offers free advice, tips, and techniques in her blog Blueprint for a Lasting Marriage.
