Author Shirley Cress Dudley is the founder of The Blended and Step Family Resource Center.  She is a licensed professional counselor, with a master's degree in marriage and family counseling, and a master's degree in education.  Mrs. Dudley is part of a blended family herself, with two biological kids and three step kids, ages ranging 15-22.
